I tried this in the newbie forum, but didn't get any responses, so I thought I would try it here.

I have been using virtualdub to extract the .wav file from a divx .avi file for ultimate conversion into a DVD .mpg file using TMPGenc. When using virtualdub, I change the sampling rate to 44100 Hz because I thought that was what the guide on this site said.

If this is going to be an MPEG-2 DVD .mpg file, should I have changed the sampling rate to 48000 Hz? The DVDs that I have burned have had some crackling and popping and some audio dropouts when I play them in my standalone DVD player. Could this have caused the audio problems?

    Thanks,
    Brian

  2. yes, change to 48khz...you can use besweet to
change wav to an ac3 file, if you want, it must
be 48khz also...use spruce-up to rejoin and add
    chapters..
