  1. howdy, trying to convert a XviD clip to VCD using TMPEGenc, most recent update. G-Spot identified audio as mp3, but no audio is found when put to TMPEGenc. ripped audio seperately with V-Dub, as recommended through this site, to put through Headache, but it failed to recognize it. Have dropped all bad frames, installed latest codecs, updated all available programs. tried to convert audio with Cool Edit and mp32wav to no good outcome. could someone please advise this redneck??? I feel i'm missing a step or ignoring the obvious.

When you've a Ac3- signal; use Vdub (under audio: select direct stream copy ) to get the WAV, rename it to .ac3 , then use ciller's Ac3tool to convert the "ac3" file to a WAV.
Here you can get the Ac3tool: http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/ac3tool.html
And if you keep having trouble with Xvid & Tmpgenc? Use Panasonic MPEG1 encoder........... I always use it for Xvid. Works perfectly.

  4. I downloaded Headache with the required DLL files, I extracted the Audio and saved it as WAV, and need to convert to mp2 for VCD, and it doesn't seem to be reading the .dll files, not even one, on the right side of the grey window it says blah blah blah.dll file failed, this is a weird problem. and this is my first time using headache by the way.

    Any suggestions*

  7. usually use TMPEG with no problems, but with this codec no audio is found or recognized. that and video seemed a little less in quality. Pana brought the quality and sound, only lost sync. already decided not to deal with XViD files in the future. It wins

  8. I also having problems encoding Xvid to SVCD and I'm having the problem across everything--Mediaconcepts, TMPGENC, Virtualdub, Vegas Video, Adobe Premiere, Ulead MediaStudio pro, EO Video, LSX-Mpeg--the list goes on forever.

The encoders will work fine to a point and then the video freezes while the audio continues. Virtualdub shows UNKNOWN for the audio compression. I've tried decompressing the audio and converting the Video to DIVx. Not a fix.

I've tried scanning the AVI with Virtualdub mp3-freeze and fixing the problems. Not a fix.

I've used the Xvid fourCC changer to change both video and audio to DIVX--not a fix and while the video decoder shows correctly as DivX the audio still shows as UNKNOWN

Correcting GOP doesn't work nor does tweaking the VBR. I'm out of ideas.

This problem only ocurrs when I attempt to encode to an Mpeg format for burning to CD. If I use a viewer on my computer the AVI's play through perfectly.
