    i am trying to rip a dvd with smart ripper, but some of the files are locked. its says something about "aspi". how can i unlock these files.

    You need the ASPI layer files, it has nothing to do with the DVD. Go to www.adaptec.com or www.nero.com to download free files. Also you can Google for "ForceASPI".

    Have you tried using PowerDVD or WinDVD first to play the DVD, let it play the first play until you get to the main menu, I sometimes go further and actually hit play too until the actual movie starts. Then hit stop to stop playing the movie, don't exit the program. Re-start smartripper, and everything should be fine now. It's worked for me on a number of occassions.
