    Hello everybody,

Ok still have a big problem to make compiliant SVCD with mi ATI AIW RADEON.
I have audio out of sync when De-Mux and Mux

So let me resume everyrhing :

My configuration is the following :

    ATI DVD Playa 4.1.0.0
    Direct X 8.a FR
    Vidéo capture Update for DirectX8
    MMC_7_1_noDVD
    Vidéo Driver w2k_radeon_5_13_01_3102

All this is installed on a Athlon TB 900 with 512 Mo Ram and an IBM 40 Go 7200 ATA 100

    Capturing parameters :
I use the TV included in the MMC 7.1 and I tri to save my favorite TV emission
I set up custom configuration :
Video standard Lines : PAL (625) (yes, I am in France)
    Size : 480*576
Audio Format : 44.100 KHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
    MPEG 2
I use Deinterlacing and Visual Masking
Number of P Frames in Group : 3
Number of B Frames in Subgroup : 2
I use Variable Bit Rate at 2.27 M Bit /Sec
    Motion Estimation Quality : 97
Motion Estimation Search Range : 32 Horizontal and 16 Vertial
I capture also with the "Capture High Resolution Stills" enabled

When capturing I have usaly 1% of frames dropped

When finishing capturing, I read my file with the File Playa of MMC 7.1, and everything is OK, Video and Audio are sync.

    Then, I use TMPGEnc Version beta12j (0.11.28.112) and I do a simple De-Multiplex

Ok, Now I have 2 files, one .MV2 for Video and one .MP2 for audio

Here is the first strange thing :

My video file (m2v) is 20:50 minutes
My audio file (mp2) is 21:11 minutes

First question : Can someone tel me why ?

Then, I try tu Multiplex them again always with TMPGEnc12j, I obtain an .mpg, but the audio is out of sync (video goes before audio)
I tried also to Mux them with bbmpg12418, but it's the same (not sync)

Someone (yes yes, it's u Kdiddy) asked me why I De-Mux/Mux my captured file that is in MPEG2, just because ATI MMC 7.1 TV is not able to do compiliant SVCD format !!! This is a shame when you see the price of the Radeon !!!!
I read somewhere that I must demux-mux the file to put if on SVCD compiliant format. And it does become good to burn in Nero, but with Audio out of sync.

Look what says Nero, if I give the output file to eat to nero :
"Stream encoding which is invalid for a (Super) Video-CD"

Just one precision, Once Muxed the video is SVCD compiliant and workd well on my stand alone DVD playa (the sound is of course Out Of Sync)

I also tried not to De-Mux/Mux, but only Merge & Cut if TMPGEnc, But it's the same.

Second question : Now what can I do to Sync up video and audio in a fast way ?

    °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

I wanted to now if VirtualDub could do something for me ...
So I took mi .mv2 (video) passed it through DVD2AVI (1.76Fr) and created a .D2V project, I Gave it to eat to AVSTool (12_222) and created an .asv
I opened the asv in VD.
Then I took razorlame114 (GUI for lame) and Lame389 to concert my audio file (MP2) to WAV
Them in VD I used the option "Change video and audio duration match (24.912 fps)
and created an AVIDivX (3.11 with audio compression DivX also)

And the final AVI is OK, Audio and Video is Sync

My conclusion : As I have lost Frames, when De-Mux/Mux, I have more audio than Video ...
Third question : Is there a way to do De-Mux/Mux and Change video and audio duration to match ???

    °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

    There, I thing I toold u everithing ...
What I want is to do Compiliant SVCD videos in a fast way, Capturing and De-Mux/Mux is a verry good solution for me, fast and easy, but does not work well !!!

Final question : Can someone help me ?

I am aware of any information that could help me
Http pages, tutorials … anything !!!

    Best Regards

  2. A) I can tell you NOT to remux with TMPG, its muxing capabilites are subpar...remux with BBmpeg1.25 beta 18

    B) on your step BEFORE to demux with TMPG, what format of file do you have at this point?? I dont understand why you demux here only to remux later if the file is in sync as you stated. I think I can help you but you need to clear that up for me first.

  3. Thx for your answer ...

    A) I tried with bbmpg12418, I have the same problem.

    B) I have the output from ATI TV (included in MMC 7.1) that is not a compiliant SVCD format. I need it to be compiliant to be able tu burn it with Nero (or anything else)

Wy demux-mux ? because it is said somewhere in this forum to do so ... so that the file becomes SVCD compiliant (and it does ))) but with audio out of sync)
