There is one way but it's very labour-intensive as you will need to process each photo individually.
Also because they have been converted and compressed they may not be restored to the same quality as the originals.

I assume the slideshow was created as a set of 'MPEG STILLS' (high-res mpg files containing 1 frame) either as VCD or SVCD.

If you still have the MPG files on disk then you can jump straight to STEP 2 otherwise you will need to get them back off the CD by following STEP 1.

Step 1 is to copy the files from the CD to your hard drive in readable form. For this it is best to use 'ISOBUSTER' (see the TOOLS section on the left).
The files will be in the 'SEGMENT' directory on the CD, if its VCD, they will be 'DAT' files, if its SVCD, they will be 'MPG' files.
In ISOBUSTER open the 'SEGMENT' directory of the CD and then select all the 'DAT' or 'MPG' files. Right-click on the highlighted list and select 'Extract Objects' and save them to the hard drive.

Step 2 is to open each one in TMPGEnc and save each one as a BMP or JPG file.
Before you open the files load up the DVD template in TMPGenc (this will ensure that the photos are extracted in high-res).
Open each file in TMPGEnc and select File -> Output to File -> Sequence BMP/../JPG File.
