Hi,
I have encoded an avi file to mpg. Then I have used NERO to burn a CD in VCD format at the highest speed. The picture is not of good quality, you see 'blocks' on the screen, and the movements are not very 'fluid'.
The avi file is +/- 700 MB for a nearly 2 hour movie. From the filesize I think the quality is not optimal. I have seen the same filesize for movies with a 80 minutes duration. Or is the qualtiy not so good since I burned the CD at 32 speed ?
Thank you for your help.

Well a vcd movie that is nearly 2 hours should be on 2 discs for the quality to be acceptable. Though vcd movies are never very good quality.

Since the original movie is over 70 minutes, I did split the avi file and converted each avi file into a mpg file before burning it to vcd format.

don't use nero to do the vcd encoding..use tmpgenc instead. this should help your quality out immensely
