I recently bought LG plazma Full HD TV (1920x1080), 81cm. I have panasonic mini DV camera and usually render my shooting to DVD format 720x576, but now picture on this TV is not with the same quality comparing with my old TV(not so sharp). I know that this is expecting but I wonder for some method for improving the picture quality (some editing filter). I use Vegas 8, frameserving to CCE encoder and then render with 720x576, 8000 kbits/sec.
    Regards.

Honestly, no. This is the price you pay going to HD - SD can look very average on some TVs. The biggest improvements you can make in the shooting.

Always make sure you have plenty of light.

Always shoot from a tripod and minimise fast movement.

These two things alone will improve the encoding quality of your video substantially, and therefore increase the final quality.

Aside from that, perhaps a light denoising.

Also, encode the DVD MPeg2 interlace 480i/576i with high bit rates (e.g. >8Mb/s).
