  1. I'm looking for a DVD burner that I can use for copying ps2 games as well as dvds movies. I'm looking for one that will be compatible in the future as well. I saw the Sony DRU500a/x which does both "+ and -". But I also heard that that drive have problems w/ medias that u uses. I also know that LiteOn will come out w/ one that does both for less than $200 in Q2 of 2003. So should I wait for the LiteOn to come out and compare w/ the Sony? By that time the price 4 Sony will drop as well and more brand will be available 2. Any suggestions/comments are much appreciated.

  2. IF U LIVE IN THE USA I WOULD RECOMEND GETTING A DVD+RW BECAUSE IT'S MORE RELIABLE AND THE PRICES ON BRANDED NAME MEDIAS ARE MUCH CHEAPER. or if u think that tha cheap dvd-r order from da net is da way to go then go for it. but da cheap medias wont last long. u pay for what u get.

  3. This question has been asked many times before. If you have the money and want to "future proof" go with sony. If you want to save a couple dollars and want speed go with the pioneer a05 or one of its clones such as the cendyne dvr-105.
Media for DVD-R is cheaper on the internet. Quality DVD-R media also seems to be lower priced. If you buy retail, they are about the same price.

  4. Sony dru500ax can not burn cheep media well some time's it seem's that some people get a good DRu500ax and other people get a buggy one. I just got one and I bought K hypermedia DVD-R and the sony can not burn them but my Pioneer AO4 can also Memorex and K hypermedia are the same DVD-R just changed the name on the cover. I might get a Ceyden or might return the dru500ax for another one
