  1. I want to put a commentary on a movie that I have and I want to have both of them on a dvd disc. The problem is how do I put a commentary on there without putting the movie on twice? Like is there a way I can seperate audio tracks so someone could pick which one they want to watch?

  2. Yes, just make one video file (m2v) and two audio files (either ac3 or PCM). Then mux them when you author, I use DVD Maestro for this.

DVDs support multiple audio streams. You can either make a menu to have the user select the audio stream they want, or just tell them to hit the audio button on the remote (automatically/default is to cycle through streams).

  3. I don't know if it makes a difference, but this is a movie I'm editing together myself. Do I need to use my editing program, which is Adobe Premiere, or can I do it with a DVD authoring program such as DVD Workshop?

  4. And also, as a side note, how much memory do you think a one and a half hour movie would take up?

You will need a higher-end authoring program such as Maestro to create a disc with selectable audio tracks. If you use something like DVD Workshop, you will have to create two versions of the entire movie on the disk.
