    I'm converting a DivX avi to SVCD. Is there a way to slightly "blur" the picture during conversion thus making the pixelation in the original avi less noticeable in the final mpg?

    What encoder are you using?

    TMPGEnc has an option to "Soften Block Noise"

    You could use the "Noise Reduction" filter. :P

    If pixelation is the problem, the "Soften Block Noise" will probably work better than "Noise Reduction".
