  1. I don't like the quality that TMPGEnc does for encoding sound so I want to use VirtualDub to make the sound file, but when I tried to save an MPEG that was 44 mins long it only encoded 32 mins of the sound and so when I went back to re-encode to make a new video, only half of the video had sound, and at about 32 mins into the movie it goes mute. What am I doing wrong and is there any ways to fix this or another way to convert the sound?

    Thanks,
    Mike.

Did you check for bad frames? Under video in Vdub use "scan video stream for errors." If there is some then save avi.
