I love this program and feel it needs a step-by-step guide from start to finish. I can write vcd and svcd information. Anyone interested in helping?

I'd love to see this happen. I've seen a lot of questions popping up on the same issues over and over again.
I think though that we should let the creators "finish" first. I get the idea that they are sitting back and seeing what is happening, and trying to squash some of the bugs that are being reported.
The expire line is creeoing up on us after all - can't wait to see what they come up with next.
What I would LOVE to see, is a working guide to ffmpegX! So many options (which is a good thing...) and I have no idea what most of them are, or what happens if I do or don't use any of them. The "sticky" guide is way out of date since Major is ALWAYS working on this app.
If I wasn't such a newbie on this stuff - I'd help. Don't really want to screw any one elses projects up... -
I'll help where I can but Im fairly new to all of this stuff, can work on the dvd section and svcd section. I've only played with 42 for now 3 hours but I've been reading these boards forever!

I would be most interested in seeing more on what to do with the files 42 creates (bin/cue) and the steps needed to burn properly.
jbcandkcI'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round.

I agree SO HARD!!
Would love to see what to do - step by step - with the .bin/.cue for VCD, and for SVCD.
DVD is pretty straight forward, but these darn .bin/.cue files... -
I hear all your pain. The documentation available for all the tools involved leaves something to be desired. But that is fair--you can't expect engineers creating free tools to be able to hire technical writers. And you can't expect all the people who have expertise and are willing to help in these forums to be able to write an effective procedure.
I struggled a lot to come up with a process for going from DVD to SVCD with forty-two and Toast. (Missing Mediaburner doesn't support my DVD-R drive.) I've written up the process in detail here:
How to Create SVCDs from DVDs with forty-two and Toast
I just hope I got the details right!
