I have had this behavior happen 3 times and have yet to get a successful rip.
Some background: I am using a Pioneer DV105 with OS X 10.2.4 and forty-two 1.5. I am going from DVD to DVD image. The DVD says it is DVD format 9 (does that make a diff? It works fine in my DVD player). It is a NTSC Chinese version of "Spirited Away" with Japanese Language and English subtitles.
I put the DVD in and click on DVD. I set the Custom Rate to 4000, the Audio to Japanese and the Subtitles to English. I then hit Start and away it goes.
I get to the point where it presents the Test Movie. I view it and it looks good. I quit out of the movie and forty-two goes to 'xferring video' (if I remember correctly) and then freezes. It takes OS X with it also. No cursor movement. I got nothing. I have to hard reboot.
This has happened 3 times. Is there a good way to troubleshoot this? Should I try another movie?
