i had a dual boot system for a while, 2 hard disks, one boots up to korean xp and another boots up to english xp, i suspected the first hard disk was dying for a while so i got a 2nd hard disc, almost a year later, the first hard disc finally died. so i took it out and left the 2nd hard disk in and switch it to master.
but when i boot up, the comp do not see it as a bootable hard disk.
is there anyway to repair the boot, cause i don't really want to reformat and reinstall xp ..
thanks.

First read this:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/recover...n_console.mspx
Then try this:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/bootcons_bootcfg.mspx
Here is a summary of the recovery commands:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/recover....mspx?mfr=true
If it works let me know, I never tried this. I Ghost systems to hard disk and DVD and a problem like this is easily fixed. -

The boot files (and many other important system files) are all stored on the C drive, regardless of which drive you choose for XP to be installed upon.
You will likely have to reinstall XP.Google is your Friend -
Normally, just run:
fixmbr and then fixboot from the recovery console should solve your problem. -
in the future, the way to prevent this is to go into bios and swithc the boot order of the HDs just loading the OS on a different drive will still keep the MBR and other files on the "boot" drive.
I have a tripple boot setup linux, vista and xp all on seprate drives i jsut go into bios to switch the order of the drive and it boots to the proper os.. safer that way if you ask me
