  1. hello all,

I searched other posts, the FAQ, but still couldn't find an answer. Here is my situation:
    hardware:
Pioneer DVR-104 on a Windows XP machine
    Sampo DVE 611
    TDK DVDs

    Software:
    TMPGEnc (registered)
Ulead DVD Workshop and Ulead DVD movie factory to author and create images
DVD Decryptor or Nero to burn.

    Variable:
Switched computers about 1 months ago.

Now here is the bizarre part:
Over the last few months I have created several iso images (on my old computer). Burn a DVD-R -- no problem viewing it in the Sampo player.

Now two weeks ago I authored the fist DVD on the new computer. Used Movie Factory - DVD-R didn't play in the Sampo, but did play in another computer's DVD drive. Check the forum - saw the issue regading UDF in Nero, burned another DVD-R, didn't play. Used DVD Decryptor to burn, didn't play. Reauthored DVD using DVD workshop, burn, didn't play. Burned an old image just to make sure - did play. Checked the codecs - from what I can see they are the same. Used default setting in TMPGEnc - didn't play. So now I had something like 6 DVDs which didn't play -- I send one of those to a friend who has the Panasonic DVD-RV30 and it played without a problem.

So, any hints? Just to make sure I mention this: the Sampo plays all other DVD & DVD-Rs just fine.

    thanks,

I like it, but it's a little slow at times. Slow reading the menu of the DVD and slow getting to play - other then that I think it's great.

Actually I do not copy DVDs, I capture PAL tapes and convert them to DVDs. Mainly the movies for my kids. The image is create using the Ulead software after authoring the DVD in it.
