  1. Hi there

I intend to backup my Led Zeppelin double dvd using Dvd2OneX - movie only. I read Galactica's tutorial which is very clear and informative but my problem is choosing the right audio track. There are three of them for the main title of dvd 1 (Abert Hall concert): pcm 2 ch, ac3 6 ch and DTS 5 ch. The content is the same : the concert (no language choice). Which format should I keep ?

My dvd player reads l-pcm, dts, dolby surround, dolby digital. Up to now it is only connected to my 1979 stereo but I guess I'll go for a "home cinema" in the future.

    TIA for your answers

I always choose the Dolby Digital multichannel track. Besides being smaller than DTS and PCM, I almost never listen to the DD2.0 track when it's available. Choosing a Dolby track will leave DVD2OneX more room for video so your quality will be better (in the case where the software must compress the video to fit on a consumer DVD-R). Sometimes the director's commentary is in one of the Dolby tracks, but I've noticed DVD2One almost always correctly identifies and labels those tracks in the audio selection frame.

  3. AntnyMD has a good point reguarding video quality, but how big is the original disc? if it's less than 6gb i usually just keep all the audio tracks (except for other languages). better safe than sorry.

I only backup the ac3 6 ch audio stream, and any commentairies. That's all that I use, thus the other audio streams are not needed for most people.

Then I'll only keep the ac3 files as each disc is about 7,6 Gb - though I won't back up all the extras.

    Thanks to you all.
