Has anyone been able to use Virtual Dub (or other 3rd party capture apps) to capture audio with the Asus v7100 DC? I can capture video with Virtual Dub, but not the sound.
When using the Asus Live software, the sound is captured directly (I have attached a cdrom-type audio cable from the video card to an internal 4-pin connector on the sound card). I have tried every input selection (aux, mic, etc,...) for the recording options, but still no sound using VirtualDub (or other 3rd party apps).
The only 'workaround' I've found is to attach the video/sound-out cable (from the back of the video card), then put the sound-out jack back into the microphone jack on the soundcard. Doing it this way causes a 1/16 second delay that makes the audio sound like it's in a tunnel.
Another complaint (besides the terrible Win2k capture driver) is the fact that when using the Huffyuv codec w/ Asus Live, it won't seemlessly start a new 2 Gig file capture (capture1.avi,capture1_1.avi., etc..) like it does using the Asus codec. This really sucks becuse I'd rather live with a slight gap then have to re-capture and re-join them all.
Thanks for any suggestions!
