1. Setup InstantCopy with the registry modification so you can deselect extras.
2. Now run InstantCopy on a film. Deselect all the extras and oversize the film to 4.8GB (using the F5 key). I chose 4.8 GB because InstantCopy seems to overestimate the final video size so you need to select ~ 10% higher. Perhaps 4.7GB would be better ... will test this.
3. Next run PDIXtract to convert the *.pdi files to standard VIDEO_TS files.
4. Now run DVD2one on this folder. There will be little or no transcoding because we have only slightly overshoot the 4.38 GB maximum. DVD2one removes all menus and leaves just the main movie. The result will be a perfect sized video.

dvd2one dosent transcode if the movie will fit, so if instant copy does a better job of transcoding you would get only the movie but with IC better picture ?

The above method is mainly for people who are familar with InstantCopy and wish to use it but find that it is not filling their DVD-R to capacity. The registry hack allows you to oversize the video but you don't really know how high to shoot. If you go too high the video will be too large to fill the DVD-R and you have to start over which can take ~ 1.5 to 2.0 hours. So, what I am proposing is to slightly shoot high knowing that this will overfill the DVD-R. Its only slightly too large so when you run this through DVD2one, very little additional "shrinking" will occur and thus little additional quality loss.
