  1. Hello

I convert divxs to svcd witout any trouble in 2h using TMPGEnc. But when I want to convert a xvid, like I do it with a divx, TMPGEnc says it will take 5x the normal time. I mean instead of 2h it takes 10 hours.

Can anybody explain me that? By the way I convert to a svcd with the sound on 48khz for the dvd.... Or does anybody know a better way to do it?

    Thanks

There's no reason (that I know of) for TMPGEnc to encode a XviD slower than DivX. There must be something else that's causing the X5 encoding time.

  5. Are you simply converting the xvid to mpeg directly with TmpGenc? If so the likley cause of your problem is nit xvid as such but VBR audio. TmpGenc has problems with this and often seems to calculate the length of the movie incorrectly resulting in apparently extended encoding times. Look to the guides and search the forums for info on handling VBR audio correctly.
