  1. Does anyone have any Idea why I can only capture 35 sec of video with my ATI AIW 128 pro? I have MMC7.1 new drivers, as the ones that come with the card will make ME crash, and an ABIT KT 7 RAID, with 256 mb or ram and a 1 gig thundirbird. This is 30-35 sec in all formats, after that time the screen stays the same. I should say, that the adio still records just fine. Help?

  2. You have the Macrovision's problems.

Search for this problems solving on this site or don't capture form protected DVDs.

Just posted this, I'll re-iterrate. You need to find a "video clarifier" box. Find one which supports both DVD and VHS video sources (on your RCA video-in patch to your card). Cheapest ones are around $30, and run on a 9v battery or adapter.

  4. This is happening regardless of what I am capturing from i.e. the source, vhs, dvd, cable. I have to say, I heard of many problems with this card, but I assumed I could work through them and it would be worth it. I am not so sure anymore. Also Where would I look for a "Video Clarifier"

Does your video flash, and loop the same frames over and over, while audio continues? This is a sign of copy protection. I've even heard of it occurring on some cable channels (though it's really very rare). If it doesn't act this way, it might be something else...

  6. Yes, but I am not sure it is copy protection only because it happens exactly the same even when I use my cam corder of home videos and old VHS movies. Is it some thing in the MMC 7.1? Or do I need to change some settings in the program. I am sure you have had many people with the same complaint, but I bought this card so that I could more esaly convert home video's to VCD to send home (I am in the military and stationed in Japan) Also I travel alot and wanted to make some of my old VHS tapes into VCD's to save space in luggage. I appreciate your help and am open to any thing.
