  1. I use dvd2svcd to automate the process of converting avi files to svcd. All works well with tmpgenc plus until the very end of the 2nd pass of variable bit encoding of the video only. Instead of proceeding to remixing the audio and video, an error message pops up in tmpgenc, "video stream error".

When I repeat the process encoding with vcd instead of svcd, it works just fine. It has happened on several different avi files. Anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?

  2. I know the problem but it has never caused any trouble with me. The movie should work fine anyway. Just try.
This problem has something to do with the SVCD header creation. You can see that when you use the Multiplex option in the TMpegEnc MPEG Tools. Since MPEG-1 files (VCDs) don't use these headers there is no error.

  3. Thanks, will try. I did notice on a test file that it does continue on, but didn't know if it encoded correctly and mixed right.

I just hate to try and fail since it takes 12 hrs to code 2 hours of material into a svcd. Thanks again.
