  1. I am trying to convert MTS video files shot on a Canon camcorder to avi files using VirtualDub and DirectShow Plugin. My professor was able to do this using my same video file, but when I downloaded the VirtualDub program and Directshow plugin, I receive the following error message: File (pathname) does not have a video stream.

The same video plays and converts fine on my professors computer. It plays fine on my laptop using he laptop's built-in HP MediaSmart Video player.

I am new to using VirtualDub and can't figure out what is wrong. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I'm running Windows 7 with an Intel Core i7 chip. I downloaded the VirtualDub 32 bit version.

    Thanks,
    Kirsten

  2. The Directshow source plugin requires that you have Directshow filters installed for the file type (MTS) and video and audio codecs used within. Try installing Haali and ffdshow.
