I need to play a video stream that used to work with mplayer but now produces the error message below. Does anyone familiar with mplayer know what I can do to make it play properly?

Maybe you are playing a non-interleaved stream/file or the codec failed?
For AVI files, try to force non-interleaved mode with the -ni option.

I already had the "windows-all" codec package installed -- but I extracted the "windows-essential" codec files over the old ones to see if it would do anything.
Is it using a codec other than the one in the codecs directory?
I still get the same error message.
Any ideas? -
I'm use frontend MPUI - just put binary codecs package to subdirectory codecs and can play this stream.
Directly from command line too.
I'm look at first post...

I have the same problem as the topic starter. Im using MPlayer-mingw32-1.0rc1 and Realvideo doesn;t play. However when I replace the MPlayer-mingw32-1.0rc1 mplayer.exe with MPlayer-mingw32-1.0pre7 exe, it works again (without changing any of the codecs).
So my guess the new mplayer.exe 1.0rc1 doesn't support realmedia as it used to be? Does anybody know a work around or to get in touch with a mplayer developer?? I'll stick with 1.0pre7 in the meantime !
PS. The problem has nothing todo with Real Alternative as this is totally different program (we use MPlayer to avoid Real Player or Real Alternative in the first place!!!).
