  1. Whenever I try to make a batch encode of 10 files or so, it will encode 5 or 6, then gives me stream reading error, yet theres nothing wrong with the file because I can restart the encoding manually.

Any ideas ? Reinstalling didn't help.

Have you run out of disk space?
The encoder may use a lot of temp space while it's running.

  7. hmm... maybe, I do have 40 gigs free to spare while encoding tho.

Sometimes I get Access Denied as the error.

came across this thread because I had the same issue.
    OS : XP (64-bit) running on C2DUO E5200, 4 Gb of RAM
symptoms : "access is denied", after encoding a few files in batch, or after encoding part of a file ok, depending on the size
when in batch, usually the file where the error occurs will convert just fine when tested individually, so the problem cannot be related to the source file.
fix : I noticed in task manager that tmpgenc used *a lot* of memory.
seemed to me the problem might occur when the pagefile kicks in (too lazy to check the real tech details, more of a gut feeling)
Either way, the problem was fixed by disabling the pagefile on the c: drive, which i usually do anyway for performance reasons, but this was a recent installation of XP.
The HDD is new and unused, recently purchased (500Gb Samsung SATA), and fully formatted (not quick format). I'll probably do a disk check later but can't be bothered right now.
In fact I could do all kinds of pagefile tests but I'm just too strapped for time so unless someone has something they really want me to check I'm not gonna.
