Hello!
I have been trying to rip a PAL dvd to cvd format but I can't get the resolution to work, VCD,SVCD works fine but not CVD.
I do the framserving with dvd2avi, load the file into tmpeg then I set everything to CVD compliant format with a CBR of 2500kbps but the outcome is always a crappy mpeg2 video at a resolution of 704x576 there's no way I can change that to the actual resolution I want. The funny thing is that when I open this mpeg in dvd2avi it says that the resolution is 352x576.
I am really confused and desperate by now..... really don't know what I am doing wrong.

Tmpeg says it is 704x352 when I load the mpeg into it and when I play it in media player it is not played as 352 as well. Also, I have a mosaic cubic grid in the movie all the time so it looks really really crappy on my TV.

I don't know idf you found an answer but recently ( like just now ) I had to replace the mpeg2 codec on my computer after unintentionally removing it and I used a couple of files 'all-filters.zip' & 'regdrop.zip' to reinstall it. I don't really know how,why or what but I couldn't get proper playback in Windows mediaplayer with an awful looking clip with random multi coloured blocks appearing throughout and just like you found it was fullscreen instead of cvd size. Even playback through my Hollywood decoder was jerky at times ( none of the blocks though ) and it just wasn't 'right'.
Anyway, I replaced the Ligos encoder suite I had on my computer before my problems and everything looks normal again. My CVD file is all squished sideways in Mediaplayer as expected I suppose.
