I've been trying to figure out how to record from tv tuner or Svideo easily using timers in WinDVR and finally came up with a solution.
I disconnected the cable from the tuner and the "line in" jack on my soundcard. I ran a cable from a vcr audio out to the "line in" to my KWorld card.
I ran the coax cable output form the vcr to the card. I leave the card on channel 3 all of the time.
I have a satellite receiver with S video - I ran the SVideo to the Kworld card and the sound output to the "Line in" jacks to the vcr. Now both the SVideo and the tv tuner share the same audio source.
I use a timer program and a simple infrared interface to automatically change the vcr to channel three or line input, change the satellite receiver's channel. After that all I have to do is set the timer in WinDVR to either TV or SVideo. Here's a link to the program/interface plans:
