I recently got WinDVD Creator because it said that it had some really cool editing and transition features for making DVDs. And it seems to do that very well for Mpeg-1 and AVI files.

But every time I try to import a standard DVD compliant Mpeg-2 cap , I get a message saying the file is corrupted and can't be used(even though the instructions said it works with Mpeg-2 files.

I know my Mpeg-2 files are fine(which I cap with a different program) in every way and can be imported into all my other DVD Authoring/Burning programs.

Does anyone know why they won't import?

Does someone HAVE to cap files with it's own capping utility to be able to import them to be authored? Or are they only talking about SVCD compliant files?

Codecs. My guess is something is messed up with the video codecs on your system. Dunno how to fix that short of re-install fresh OS then software and try it again.

Does anybody else have it refuse to import mpeg-2 files?

Do they need to be in a certain format or resolution, or something?

I just found that the PLUS version of Creator imports mpeg-2 files easily.

I guess the explanation of the standard version should remove that claim, as only the PLUS version seems to be able to work with them.
    "Signature"......
I use a Dazzle capturing system that Only lets me capture into Mpeg. So that is all I work with. I never do any DV/AVI video.....
