  1. This is what drives me crazy about theses forums no one gives a real answer, just repeated bullshit. I want a real answer.

    Fixing bad frames:

Deleting sections w/ Vdub doesn't work, audio is out of sync. I've tried every variation on this.

Direct stream copy of both video and audio is a bullshit answer because it never works.

Encoding to a different Divx codec doesn't work.

AviDeFreezer doesn't even output to a file.

How about a real solution people?

There is no solution. Badframes, either delete them or replace them. Replacing them might not be too difficult if you use irc, just put out request for good source file for that section, someone usually helps. But if your using P2P progs like Kazaa to get your source files then your stuffed unless you download the whole thing up until a point just past your bad data (bear in mind the source files may be corrupt anyway).

You can't fix badframes. There is not the data there to be translated to good data. Programs like divfix don't fix badframes they just correct the header information and leave the bad data there.

"Deleting sections w/ Vdub doesn't work, audio is out of sync. I've tried every variation on this."

you can't have tried every variation otherwise you would have worked out about resyncing the sound. audio - interleaving - audio skew correction, for sections of the movie.

As for repeated bullshit, why do you think it's repeated?
you know it's the anti-Midas touch when all you touch goes to shit..............

If you have tried all the other ideas floating around here try this one
    http://www.dynapel.com/private/mp_facts.htm

MotionPerfect takes before and after frames and combines them into a new frame - it tends to lose out with lots of bad frames next to each other but for one off's it's ok

try the demo version - I always had problems with it - but it might jsut be what your looking for

  6. I haven't tried it yet, I'm too poor to afford the program, I was just grateful for a real answer. Maybe someday, until then I just cut out the segments that dont' work with TMPGEnc and then repaste them back toghether. It's usually only a couple of seconds anyway.
