Hello, I am new here and new to DVD burning. I recently obtained some movies on DVD-R that I ripped to my HD and then burned to DVD-R. I followed several of the tutorials on this site and in my home DVD players the disc's work fine. On a couple of other copies of the same movie, using the same methods to burn it, the video experiences various problems. Out of 7 copies 2 have had these weird problems.
One guy had the movie restart near the middle of the movie and another had split second freezes at a different area of the movie. Does anyone have any ideas as to what would cause such behavior on some DVD players and not others?
I have a Sony DRU-500a running on WinXP. I ripped the movies using smart ripper, authored them with ifoedit to create an image file and burned the image using DvDDecrypter. The blank media I used was TDK 2x disc (purchased 15pc on spindle).
Thanks in advanced for any help.

to me if you made 7 copies and 2 did not work but the rest did it would have to be either their dvd players didn't like the media, supported the media or the way it was authored. Have you taken a dvd that you know works in your dvd player and used it on theirs to see if it was the dvd or the dvd player?

That perticular movie has worked on 4 different DVD players as well as one XBOX machine. All copies were burned from the same Image file on the same media.

then it sounds like it is your friends dvd players that are the problem. i have 3 dvd players and my pioneer is more finiky then the other 2. there are a couple movies that the pioneer does not want to play right but i can take that same movie and load it into my other 2 dvd players and it plays fine so there the problem lies with the pioneer dvd player. Some media does not play in all the dvd players out there. probably change your media and see if that movie will play in the dvd players with the new media. that could be the problem.
