avi encoding

ok i have a movie that is on 2 700 meg avi file and i want to encode then to 1 700 meg file usualy i us vertualdub and just compress then to a new size but now i am getting this error message on cd 1

And this on cd 2

its a simple question i know but i have looked every where so can some 1 give it to me in lame turms....................
oh and i have tried going to vertual dub audio options=>full prossesing and .wav => convertion => the chose lame mp3 codec with a 48000 hz
at 128 CBR but it is still out of sync on the finished .avi
please help its driving me round the bend

You get that error message cause Virtual Dub cant handle MP3 VBR audio so you should use the "Vdubl_mp3_freeze" which can handle MP3 audio.
