In the process of installing FEURIO CD burn software, the engine of this programs's system diagnosis advised me to disable certain WINDOWS drivers that might conflict with its operation. I know I disabled the WMP 's burning plug-ins here. But I also stopped 2 drivers that FEURIO told me might present problems.. After this action. WIN2000 will not show my CD ROM drives in MY COMPUTER.
They're in the DEVICE MANAGER plain as day but windows says:A driver for this device was not required, and has been disabled. (Code32)
Windows doesn't explain how to rectify this.
The Feurio CD softwre site doesn't answer my plea, and its not obvious what driver is gone...Please someone..HELP I don't want to re install 2000 because I'm to stupid to have backed up my OS prir to this gaffe.

This whole thing came about because I selected not ASPI, but DEVICE CONTROL
in the "access to drives" - FEURIO PROPERTIES page - because it suggested here that this was a way (to feurio) to access the SONY 500 it saw in an ADS PYRO box that wasn't the IDE or SCSI chain.

Took me awihle, FEURIO never got back to me.

I opened the system dianosis area of FEURIO. here you can enable and disable services in WIN2k.. down the list of dissabled drivers I WNT. i COULDN'T FIND THE ONE i HAD DISBLED EXCEPT BY TRIAL AND ERROR
I hadda start 20 or so dirvers manually here...
these three when started at boot fixed me up:
    CDRAWL2k
    DCR4_2k
    and
    CDROM
how they let you disable the third and necessary driver is beyond me!
    Its fixed now
