MFII reports the wrong available space on my HD. I have 20GB's free but it reports 1.5GB's and won't let me compile to my HD?

Go to preferences and reset the folder where you want the temps files to store...see Baldrick's MF 2 guide of front page.

I started trying the demo too, but I'm having big time problems. First it's very unstable. Moving the mouse accross certain buttons can actually crash the thing (and I'm the guy with the system that NEVER sees the stability problems anyone else sees). It locks up all the time and you have to reboot the system once you've used it to clear the system and get it back up to any sort of speed. I haven't figured out what processes it leaves running yet, but it clearly leaves something major open.
The auto chapter looks like it works great except you can't make a DVD after you do it. I always get "Chapter entry points after final frame" errors when finalizing the DVD and it just quits at that point. This seems to happen no matter how many chapter points I delete from the end of the movie. Now I have been happy with MF1 so for now I'll just wait. Others seem to be doing fine with MF2. Are these common bugs? Is the full release package much better than the demo? Can anyone else guess what I might be doing wrong? I don't see anything in the guides and the on board trouble shooter was no help.
Yes I have uninstalled and reinstalled. That didn't help.
