  1. I have been encoding with Mainconcept and it's ok for me so I have an PII 500 Mhz and I can encode a 90'' film in 100 ''
The problem is that it does not keep the aspect ratio and all the image are stretched.
I have read about add blank borders with Vdub but I do not know how to do it.
How I can add blank borders with Vdub? (Please If known tell me step by step)
Which must be the final dimensions or final resolution to encode correctly with Mainconcept?

I worked out how to add borders with virtualdub yesterday.

Before frameserving, go video > filters > add > resize

Then first check the 'expand frame and letterbox' option and enter the size of the movie type you're doing (i.e for NTSC SVCD you'd enter 480x480, for PAL SVCD 480x576, etc). Now, in the top two boxes enter the original resolution of the movie. The movie I was trying to encode in letterbox was a Gangs of New York dvd screener, which is 576x256. So I entered that in the top 2 boxes.

Then just hit preview and make sure the bars are there.

NOTE: You must fill in the bottom 2 boxes first. For some reason if I fill in the top 2 first I can't fill in the second box on the bottom

    1.-My avi file is Xvid file 640 x 272
2.-I load the avi in Vdub

  7. Ok. Now I know how to resize the movie but when I want to frameserve mainconcept doesn't open the vdr file
    These are my steps:
    Open file
    Select resize filter
    Start frameserve
Accept the name of the avi
    Save as anytihg.vdr
    Run Mainconcept
Open video file and I try to open anything.vdr but it says "No video data found"
I tried to rename the file as anything.avi and anything.vdr.avi but It's allways the same
    ?????
