Hi..

I built a custom made pc using an MSI dual athlon MB, 512 MB reg. DRAM and 3 HDD's. The last two are configured in a XP software raid (striping)system. The idea was Capturing/Filtering with VDUB and frameserving to CCE.

The Raid was supposed to give the needed space (2x 120 GB WD 8MB Cache) and speed for reading/writing lots of data at high rates.

The problem is..

When just filtering an AVI in VDUB (small piece) mostly works fine. When filtering a huge file VDUB crashes around 20% of the job...calling it an access violation. CCE complains also after a while about a disk error.

Have tried different versions of VDUB, played around with optimization settings MMX/3dnow etc. But no result...

After a while I began to suspect the raid system. When outputting to the 1st non raid drive...no problem.., the raid drives though are flawless and all other applications run perfectly...copying large files, no problem..just when moving lots of data through VDUB/CCE it makes a mistake sometimes...(may take 1/2 an hour though), but it always initiates a crash of VDUB and/or CCE.

Maybe any of you powerusers have encountered some of these problems.

Or is it just a Microsuf problem...

Tnx...

Mike.
