  1. Extremely frustrated at this point, as I THINK everythings fine, burn and pop dvd in my player and it's out of sync.

First of all, I'm burning vcds on dvd. Great success so far (LOVE Ulead). Audio was fine in .avi file, but disappeared after tmpgenc. Went back and decompressed .avi, then ran through tmpgenc. Sounded fine. Previewed in Ulead, and audio was still fine. Burned and popped into my dvd player, and while audio is there, it is slightly out of sync (consistently) throughout the movie. I went back and saved the .wav file separately from the .pcm file, but when I added the audio separately in Ulead, the file became too large to burn on dvd. Perhaps I need to go back and run the audio through tmpgenc? It's just so hard to know if what you're doing is right or not, since it plays fine on my pc.

Any suggestions? (thanks in advance, and sorry if this has already been asked. I tried to search before posting)

  2. I had the same problem after encoding with TMPGenc 2.59, was fine on my PC! but whenever I burnt it with Ulead movie factory the audio sync went out about half way through the film!
I switched back to TMPGenc 2.57, everything was fine after that!

  3. My audio is out of sync from the beginning. Right now I'm re-running it through tmpgenc with my initial .avi video and decompressed .wav, and changing the settings to "do not frame rate conversion" under the advanced tab. I'll post when it's done as to whether or not this works.
Thanks for the suggestion to use a previous version of tmpgenc, but I'll I'll stick with 2.10 for now. If it doesn't work, I'll look for an earlier version. Appreciate your post.

  4. I see you have selected do not frame rate conversion!
I take it your using virtuadub as a frame server?

  5. I followed those instructions based on another guide I saw for "audio out of sync". It didn't help. I think that guide was for when the audio gets progressively worse, not consistently out as it was in my case. I've since read that others have had problems with this movie as well ("Evelyn"), so I'm giving up for now.

I'm going to admit my stupidity now What is frame serving? My son set this up for me before he deployed (airforce). I've successfully burned hundreds of vcds and am now burning dvd with relative success. Do I know what I'm doing? Heck no. I think I'm just lucky.

I use Vdub, tmpgenc and Ulead. Ocassionally need Ac3Decoder and if the vbr is off, I decompress the audio with avi2vcd's decompression feature and leave it as a .pcm file. That's pretty much it.

  6. frame serving is when you use an external program such as virtual dub to convert the frame rate! rather than using TMPEGnc to do it! hence selecting do not frame rate conversion! tmpeng doesnt do a great job at converting the frame rate! try leaving "do not frame rate conversion" de-selected if your not going to be changing the frame rate! this might be why your getting audio sync! I could be wrong! but hey! you never know!
anyways! I leave you to try it or just give up with it mate!
    good luck!
