    i cant load a wmv film into virtual dub (1.3)

    i still get the error message saying = "cant locate decompressor for format "WMV1" (unknown)

    i downloaded the wmpcdcs8.exe and the WM9Codecs.exe from micro soft but still it wont work for me

    i have windows xp

    where can i download the wmv1 codec?

    you have already downloaded the codec

    however WMV1 and all the new MS codecs are all directshow codecs only
    VirtualDub only accepts video for windows ( VFW ) codecs
    you will need to work around this but feeding the file into VirtualDub some other way like AVISynth or similar
