With so many posts in the forums, a more descriptive subject would help.
So Power DVD plays, but the audio stops ... it's a full version, not demo? The video continues? If the video plays, sounds like you've got the codecs.
Can you play a DVD (regular, production/purchased DVD)? In other words, is the problem only with SVCD?
I have problems with SVCDs created with Nero. I have no problems if I use VCDEasy. Try using VCDEasy.
Good Luck with your problem. -
Ya Reg. DVD's work... it might be nero... but how fast does your PC have to be to play these .. is this maybee the problem? i have a 500 mhtz pent 3...

If you can play DVDs then you should have whatever power you need to play SVCDs - as far as I know, SVCD is simply a 'reduction' of the DVD spec (480x480/576 instead of 720x480/576, and lower bitrate).
Try authoring with VCDEasy; it's got a real nice user interface, and seems to create much more compliant output. Also, it gives good logging - you may see some error messages that give you a clue.
How are you creating the SVCDs - what tools? Are you making them fully compliant (max bitrate, etc?). Nero will try re-encoding stuff if it's non-compliant, but who knows what kind of job it does. Best to create good input to start with using TMPG or similar, correct frame rate, bitrate, resolution, etc.
Does your SVCD play on any standalone player?
On my PC, I cannot get svcds to play as 'discs' - I have to play them as files. Eg, in WinDVD, I have to open the playlist feature and navigate to the mpeg stream. I haven't bothered to figure out why I can't play them as discs since my goal it so play them on my standalone. -
I have a place where i am gettins Svcd's in Bin/Cue format... and burning them with nero.. (tried fire burner) Also my friends plays them on his DVD player ( on his TV ) and they work Perfect.. But when i play them on my Pc Standalone player which i am using PowerDVD It still is happening and i dont think i can burn bin/cue with VCDeasy ... Please reply thank you

So your 'source' is a bin/cue that you get from elsewhere, and you are told they are in SVCD format.
You are burning these bin/cue files using Nero's ability to burn image files. Thus, you are not using Nero's ability to create an SVCD, which is what I thought you were doing.
There is a tool 'daemon tools' that I got on the 'doom9' site, I believe, that allows you to 'mount' a bin/cue as a virtual disk. You run the program, point it to the cue file, and it creates a virtual drive letter for the new 'CD'. You can then 'play' this 'CD' as a real CD. I use this to test bin/cue's before burning to avoid wasting CDs.
Sounds like you've already 'disassembled' the bin/cue files into native MPEG files, and the MPEG files cut off too.
One thought - do you hve a demo version of some codec? Could it be that you have some shareware program, that is limited to 5 minutes? -
Hmmmm.... while searching for a software SVCD player, I came across the website for PowerDVD. The demo version has a limit of 5 minutes on the audio (30 minutes on video).... sounds like you are running demo software and forgetting what the deal is!
But you said above that regular DVDs played just fine - are you sure - in PowerDVD? On the same PC?
