I have read in various posts that people are having difficulty in getting DVD+R disks created under DMF1 to play under anything but a PC's player. I have not been able to solve the problem but what I have found does show something:
    Firstly some specs:
    Disks-Intenso DVD+R
    Writer-Ricoh MP5125A

Firstly I have been able to get DMF1 movies created on a DVD+RW disk and these play not only on both my DVD-ROM and my Ricoh under both operating systems (see below) but also on standalone DVD players.
The problem comes when I use a DVD+R. It 'seems' to create the disk fine but I then have considerable difficulty getting it to play: I have a tri-boot on my PC. The disk will not function in either my DVD-ROM (a Samsung 616F Firmware revision 1.05-the latest)or The Ricoh when I am under Windows XP.Now when I say 'not function' I mean the files on same are not seen at all-it is not a case of the movie not playing-the data can NOT be read. However when I switch to Windows 98SE the DVD-ROM is a no go but the DVD+R disk will play on The Ricoh. It will not play on any (and I have travelled miles trying to ascertain this) standalone DVD player.
Now this compatability evidence between the player, type of disk and, most importantly operating sytem, promted me to look under 'Disk information' in my Easy CD Creator 5 program and such gives the option of 'Finalize session' under same. By comparison a similar DVD+RW disk created in exactly the same way does not have this option shown. Naturally trying to 'finalize session' produces no results as regards getting the 7 DVD+R disks that I have already burned to play as such does not seem to function-life is not that simple.
All things considered I do not believe that DMF1 is closing/finalizing DVD+R disks properly. Any comments or ideas anyone???

  2. DMF1 can write out a VIDEO_TS file which you might try to burn with a good +R burning program. DMF1 came out long enough ago that +R discs really weren't common (but +RW was remember the HP 100i?).

    DMF2 might fix that....
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

Did you apply the patch that adds DVD+R support?
