  1. Hey there everyone,

I was just wondering if there is a way to increase the speed of CCE's encoding.

I remember getting speeds up to 1.6 and my computer is a p4 1.6 ghz.

now i can barely reach 1.2

I just formated last month.. i have cce 2.5 and i beleive all the patches, etc.

If anyone knows how... i'd appreciate it.

    I also have SP3 for win2k.

Well first off your speed can vary quite a bit depending on your settings. Larger resolutions and higher bitrates will take longer to encode, filters can slow things down alot, and frameserved files will take slightly longer to encode than raw avi's.

Make sure your hard drives aren't fragmented, and if possible read your source from one drive and have the encoder output to another.

Experiment with different verions of avisynth, mpeg2dec, etc...

unlike other encoders , CCE is VERY memory hungry
have as much memory free as you can
since you only have 256MB - look at going to 512 or more
Hey you can't have enough memory especially with W2K or XP
