    Hello all,

I'm a real newbie - this is my first time on this board and my first attempt at editing any videos.

I had some old super8 home movies transfered to DVD and I want to make a customized DVD. The files are all mpegs with no audio.

However, the movies seem to play faster than what seems normal human speed - like they are going in fast forward (the frame rates are all 29.97fps) and some portions of the movies go even faster than other parts.

What I want to do is to slow down these faster portions of the videos to a more human speed. Is there any program out there that will let you do this?

Any help will be most appreciated.

    Cheers

I use Ulead Video Studio 9SE which came bundled free with some hardware I bought. It has a setting for Playback Speed.

  3. It sounds like they captured at 24fps and encoded at 29.97fps,as was mentioned VideoStudio has a speed effect and so does Arcsoft Showbiz.
The problem is it will slow down an entire clip so you will have to split the slower scenes.

Thanks for the quick response. I will definitely try these.

I hadn't thought of splitting out the really fast scenes, that might work out beautifully.

    Thanks again

Just wanted to thank you guys again, I tried VideoStudio 11 and it worked like a charm. It even gave me the ability to brighten things up and adjust the coloring.

    You guys are the best.
