  1. I'm having problems getting audio to sync when trying to convert a downloaded AVI to a DVD.

From reading different guides, it appears this is happening because the AVI has a slightly different frramerate. The AVI in question has a framerate of 29.751.

Is this in fact the reason my audio in the end product (authored DVD) is out of sync? If so, what's the process to fix this? Do I need to somehow convert the AVI to a standard (29.970) framerate? Or is it a matter of taking the audio I ripped and manipulating it to sync up correctly to the .m2v file I created?

  2. How are your converting the avi to dvd.

I had those problem when going from SVCD MPEG2 -> DVD. Using DVD2AVI and then putting it through TMPGEnc. I removed DVD2AVI from the picture and used Linear PCM audio in TMPGEnc and then it worked fine. I could also then convert the audio to ac3 or mp2 after and it still was in Sync.

  3. I've tried numerous ways of converting the avi. Mostly, I've used VirtualDub to strip the audio and video (Audio into wav format) and then TMPGEnc to encode the video to .mpv file. Then I've tried using both Maestro and IFOEdit to author the vob files.

I've also tried using TMPGEnc and other programs to compress the wav to mp2, mpa, or ac3 formats. No matter whether I use the original WAV file, or one of the others, it still comes out wrong.

What I notice in Maestro is the Audio file is 2secs shorter than the Video file. Which brings me back to the framerate issue. At some point is the video being convertered to 29.97fps, and the audio remains the same? Or maybe the other way around?
