  1. I wonder if there are any DVDMaestro pros who can help me solve this problem. I have ripped a few DVD9's by reencoding them and then authoring them with DVDMaestro. I normally also import the chapter information created by DVDecrypter as a CHP file. The problem is that DVDMaestro never import all the chapters. For example in Stars Wars II it imported about 20 of the 40 chapters listed in the CHP file. In Pinocchio it also imported about 8 of 25 chapters listed. Is there a bug in the program? Please help.

  2. I've heard it can have problems with long filenames and/or long paths to the files being used. Have you tried chapter extractor? I've used it in Maestro to import over 30 chapters.

  3. lordjarjar: Just create your own chapter points within Maestro. Chances are, even if you use the chapter file .chp that Chapter Xtractor creates, you will have some other problems with sync issues in Maestro sooner or later and get I-frame errors. Create your own chapters and you can make as many or as few as you like. I hate movies that have so few chapters, and the same with movies like Attack of the clones which have a chapter every couple of minutes.

  4. I always import the .txt file that DVD Decrypter creates for Maestro and I haven't had a problem doing that. When you select import chapter list and you are searching for the file, change the file type at the bottom from ".chp" to "all files *.*" and select the chapter .txt file.

Thanks for the quick response ppl. I might have to use chapter extractor. I don't like to create my own chapters as most chapters starts at the beginning of an appropriate scene. If I insert them myself it could be too jumpy. Except Mulholland Drive which have no chapters at all.

Are you using CCE to re-encode?

If you are then you need to check the timecode setting within CCE. If it is set at 01:00:00 then that will cause this problem. You need to set CCE with a timecode of 00:00:00. I'm not sure but I think you can correct it by adding one hour to all the timecodes in your chapter text file before importing into Maestro.

If your not using CCE then ignore me.
