Hello all,
This might be a silly question but I was wondering if one can backup a movie, which resides on a DVD-9 media using any regular DVD writer (DVD -R/RW or DVD +R/RW), onto one disc as long as one uses a blank DVD-9 media to burn on to. In other words, do you need a special DVD writer to burn DVD-9 media?

I think DVD-9 is a dual layered disk right? There is no such thing as a DVD9 writable disk.

Not possible without encoding at a lower bitrate to get it to fit. No such thing as DVD9 writeable media, unless you are prepared to use double sided discs. The problem with double sided discs is they are expensive, you cant label them with regular labels and you still have to get up to flip the disc, so you may as well split it over 2 discs.
