  1. I have read some of the guides, most of them seem so complex, and maybe some of them is a bit too old. There is at least mentioned 8-10 different tools to use I'm confused.

Can someone please explain step-by-step the easiest way of merging / joining a SUB file (which I have) with an .avi movie ?!

    Thank you so much.

  2. Step 1. Go buy the original DVD
    Step 2. Put into player
Step 3. Watch and subtitle on

  3. ...and what if my .avi file was from a summer vacation in Greece in 2002, which I have made subs to, for my friends in Italy ?! What then ?! Can you tell me where to buy that DVD

Regretably you have made it quite obvious that teh AVI file is downloaded and unless it is uncopyrighted (rather unlikely) is classed as Warez.

See the Glossary or the Forum Rules - Warez NOT allowed.

If this REALLY is un copyrighted or home movie etc, i am sorry, but i dont really believe you, especially as you reacted as such!!

Also the guides are really quite easy to follow.

  5. I'm aware about the rules, they pop into your face the moment you make a reply to any post.

    Do NOT give warez.
Do NOT link to warez .
    Do NOT ask for warez.
Do NOT provide information how to obtain warez.
    Do NOT advocate warez.

Warez includes downloaded copyrighted movies, movies that are not yet released on VHS/DVD and copying rented movies.

Will you please tell me, what of the above rules I have broken in my first post, your guess about my avi file as downloaded just isn't good enough, so tell me: What rule have I broken ?!

At no point did i state that you had broken the rules.

My intuitive guess that you are talking about warez is merely reinforced by your over-reaction.

If your file really is a family movie, as you claim in your second post, most people would state that to start with, and not be subtle / sneaky.

If your file really is a famiily movie, I apologise, as i did in my first post.

The guides are easy to follow.
    Look HERE for guides.

I recommend THIS guide to add subs to an AVI.

  7. That's okay... and thanks for the link I believe that's the guide I will stick to, it seems simple enough, especially scenario 1 & 2.
