  1. hi all...im new...this is my first project and using tmpgenc to convert, but I can't open any of the avi files and receive the "...file not supported" message. I read the problems part and it say I need to install the divx codecs, but my question is do I need to install all three versions? Or just the latest 502 somthing? Also, is this the best way with best quality result?

  2. The codec you need to install, depends on the codec that was used to encode your file. If you install Divx5, this wont decode a divx3 or xvid file. So yes install all of the divx codecs and possibly xvid as well. TMPGEnc is a very good mpeg encoder.
