  1. I have looked over all the previous posts on rar on macs and none of them help. Iam using mac os x and i just downloaded a movie through aol and have .rar and .r00 through .r52. i used vcdtools and went through all the stages for the .rar and that worked but that only gave me the opening minute of the movie. iam assuming the rest of the movie is on the rest of the rar's. i have tried using unrar x for the others, but when it gets to the very end of the 52 files it just says CRC error and total errors:1. is there anything i can do to get this movie to work?any other programs i can try to expand these rar files? or is there just something wrong wih the files?any help is welcomed.thank you.

  2. You are correct in assuming that the rest of the movie is in the rest of the files. You need to put all the files into a single folder and open up the .rar file with UnRAR X. It will extract all the files and join them. The problem is not with UnRAR X. If it gives a CRC error, that means one of the rar files (it should indicate which one) is corrupted. You need to redownload that particular file.

  3. Thank you for that, that actually seriously helped. But i found that i could redownload most of them, and they wouldnt have problems anymore, but there is still one file left, that no matter what i do it still says "packed data CRC failed", is there anyway i can get around that or anyway i can fix the file.thanks.

  4. Try using MacRAR to repair that last file. It's a OS9 application, but I think it will run in classic if you don't have a dual-OS machine.
