  1. Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here i go:

I don't really have a problem but 2 days ago i copied Murder By Numbers DVD for encoding to SVCD at 2cds. I used DVD2SVCD, captuered subs and all with help from a guide here on vcdhelp and this took really long time. It took me over 40 hours to complete this operation Is there a way to improve the speed? I didn't use the computer much during this procedure, mainly the computer stod here managing itself... The dvd was on my hard drive etc.
    My system is:

    P4 450
    768mb ram
    100gb wd harddrive

    thanks in advance...

  2. Hi,

40 hours on a pIII 450 is quite normal. I use a pIII 750 and it takes me 15-19 hours to convert a film.

You can cut in time bij changing the quality settings. If you use dvd2svcd with tmpgenc you can change the "rate control mode" or "motion search precision"

But i don't recommend it because you also are degrading the quality of your movie.

  3. A P4 450?...... (P4?)

Anyway... did you use Tmpgenc or CCE to encode, the reason im asking is that if you set CCE to encode with 3 or 4 passes, it can take a while even on my Athlon XP 1800+.

    (P4 450?)....

  4. Only take 3-5 hours with CCE 2.5 SP for DVD Movie. Plus my computer not really fast but enough.
