  1. I need help...I just can not get EO Video to convert my rm to avi...I follow the instructions to convert it but when i press the start button i get this error message--->

Converter module can't be started. (Err=30212-0)
    Converter/Engine closed

What is going on here? why do i keep getting this error message?
Can someone please help me? Is EO video just to good to be true? Is there any other program that i can use to convert from rm to avi other than eo video or tinra?

Im trying to use Eo Video 1.21

Note: I also get the error message using the latest EO Video version 1.3.

  4. Thanks faceman101 for replying to my post..

Well I still can't get this darn program (eo video) to work. I have realplayer 8 basic build 6.0.9.450

Can it be i need a new version of real player?

I have no problem playing the rm file with eo video... I just can't convert it to avi or mpeg... maybe im doing something wrong..Do I have to use mark in or mark out in the player option?

can you or anybody tell me step by step how to convert rm to avi using eo video 1.21? Also faceman101 what version of eo video are you using?

  5. Yes, 1.21.

It is possible you may need to upgrade, I am not sure on that. I have UnrealOne installed (I really hate The RealOne Player) and it converts it fine.

Are you changing the colour depth at all?

  7. I have managed to change Rm to AVI using the software yu have.
Yu need to have loaded Realplayer 8 or less as EO Video uses its engine.
I use the CinePac Codec, the rest of settings as normal
    The quality is reasonable
I have been through all your frustration and I have tried the other software you mention with similar success. Lots of other people cant get it to work either. I will get more scientific in my answer if this doesnt help.

  8. Try outputing with uncompressed or the HuffYUV codec, also uncompressed audio.

See if you still get that error.

I use EO Video v1.3 and it perfoms very well.
    I have RealPlayer v8 also.
Have you tried "tinra"? It is an older converter but it still works well.
I think tinra="this is not real audio"
Hang in there and keep trying. It will happen.

  10. Thanks for the replies.

Well I still can't get eo video to convert rm to avi or mpg

I tried to convert using CinePak Codec by Radius , but it didn't work

I tried the no compression video and audio and again i get the same error
Also what is the HuffYUV codec?

Can the error be due to the size of my disk space on my Hard drive (1.1GB) is all i have left?

I tried tinra and it converted my small 2.54mb rm file to avi but I got an illegal operation error trying to convert my big 45mb rm file to avi.

    Any other suggestions out there?

    Here is an obvious recommendation:
If the problem is file size try splitting to smaller files then convert each smaller file. If that works then combine all the smaller files using virtualdub.

How do I split the rm file to smaller files?

Won't the picture look worse if i have to recompress and combine the smaller avi files with virtualdub?

You said earlier that your rm file played just fine using Real Player. That would suggest that your rm file is ok.
You said earlier that you converted a small rm file that went ok, so this suggests that your converter is working ok.
    So far so good.
I just coverted a 20mb rm file to avi and it resulted in a 1.2gb file. This suggests that your 45mb rm file needs to have somewhere around 2.5gb.
I have never had the error that you keep getting so therefore no comment.
There is an interesting article on this forum "Converting Real Media To Another Format" which involves recapturing your rm. This could be a last resort.
    Hope this helps.
