Please provide as much information as you can: what converter are you using? What are the video details? What conversion settings are you using?

  3. Hi Uta,

    I use AVI XViD

ffmpeg xvid, 320x240, 512 kbps, 29.97 fps, no crop

    mp3, 48000 Hz, 128 kbps

this is working fine for all other .mov files from Quicktime...

Are you playing the converted video on PC?
The conversion details indicate a low resolution video that you want to play on a mobile device...
    Have you tried other converters?

  5. Hi Usta,

yes I'm transfering it to a Cowon D2 but my VLC Player on my iMac (which is playing everyhting) doesn't have the sound too and the also the 90° rotation. So I would be satisfied to have my VLC Player playing a converted .avi file with sound and the right rotation.

Yes I tried other settings too...

To be honest I am amazed this should be a common problem for every 3GS User who want to convert the video to .avi...?

    Let's try with another converter.
    Download and install Format Factory.
Select from the left menu "All to AVI" and from Output settings select "Mobile Device Compatible 320x240 xvid" option.
Now just change a few settings as you like (bitrate, FPS, etc..) and convert. The result should be a simple avi file playable both on VLC and on D2.
