I have several MPEG-2 files created by TMPGEnc from captured DV/AVI files. I want to merge the mpeg-2 files together using TMPGEnc's merge facility. When I do that, the audio begins to get out of sync - progressively worse the farther into the reulting file I get. It is probably less that .5 sec out of sync at the end of an hour long mpeg made up of 19 smaller mpeg files. I did notice that the times reported by the "Outputting ..." dialog for the video and audio are 3730.46 seconds and 3730.68 seconds respectively

    Any Ideas why??

I have tried some other programs that join mpeg-2 files in which the audio and video were in sync at the end of the hour, but the timecodes/frame information was screwy. When I tried playing the file in WinDVD, it thought the duration of the entire mpeg was the duration of the first clip. When I brought it into tmpgenc, it only recognized the first clip, and when I brought it into Dazzle DVD Complete, I had problems moving the time selector on the timeline around.

I am wondering if anyone has found a program that will join MPEG-2 files together correctly, or if there is some other way around this problem.

(I have tried most of the shareware/freeware programs listed at http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/encoding_cutjoin.html so please don't reference those)

    Thanks,
    Tom

  4. exact same problem but i'm using mpeg hope some1 figures this out or gets another program-vcr.

how do you do this in TMPGEnc i only want to link four files together but when using TMPGEnc you have to make a whole new file and create a whole new Mpeg file and on all the options i've tried the quility always has lines onthe edges of everything on screen.

all i wanna do is link these four files together and keep audio in sync.

    pls help
